SwERVE is designed for customers who hold unique data within a GIS
system and wish to maximise its availability at minimum cost. SwERVE
opens data locked within proprietary GIS systems and makes it available
to popular desktop GIS applications with no risk of corruption to
the source data. In this way, SwERVE forms a dynamic link between
the proprietary GIS and the desktop GIS.
SwERVE version 4.1 builds on previous versions to enable the user
to maximise usage of their data within an intuitive and easy-to-use
environment.
Features of SwERVE version 4.1:
Data Extraction Facility - for
extraction of both raster and vector data from a proprietary GIS
for integration within a desktop GIS
- Spatial Extracts - enable the user to extract data from the
proprietary GIS based on a geographical area selected within the
desktop GIS
- Integrated Cache Subsystem - to improve the performance of
Spatial Extracts
- Bulk Extracts - fast extraction of large, one-off groups of
data from the proprietary GIS e.g. for reporting purposes
- Differential Extracts - ability to extract only data which has
changed since a previous extract
- Optional independent extraction of Geographic and Non-Geographic
data
- Automatic 'best fit' selection of object attributes and geometries
