Deloitte & Touche's PetroView® - a Geographic Information System (GIS) for the upstream petroleum industry - is used by oil & gas and seismic contractors for planning and analysis. Companies such as Shell UK Exploration and Production Ltd, Mobil North Sea Ltd and PGS Exploration (UK) Ltd see benefits in their operations through the combined use of PetroView and ARCS charts.

Dovre Safetec, in conjunction with the DETR, HSE, and UK Offshore Operators Association have developed shipping route databases ("COAST") which can be used with ARCS for GIS and ARCS charts in evaluating the safety and environmental impact of various oil exploration activities.
