Utility Sector.

The Problem

The Utility Company embarked on a network wide data improvement programme and GIS upgrade. This involved extracting data from their GIS sending it to Data Capture Vendors to vectorise the data and re-loaded into a GIS.

The Solution - Data Production Facilities

Intelliscan supplied a number of personnel trained and knowledgeable in handling this type of project where manual extraction, processing & packaging and production services were required.

The Intelliscan Data Production Team performed manual bulk and differential extracts for loading into the Batch Control System and prepared the datasets for sending to the Data Capture Vendors. This process also involved handling any data problems reported by the Data Capture Vendors, which often required investigation and further data extracts as well as non-production data for specific requirements.

This project had to be carried out in a secure environment (both at the client site and at Intelliscan premises). Complex data encryption also had to be used for processing, due to the high volumes of confidential data being handled.

The Result

Intelliscan provided the client a ready-made skilled workforce to ensure that their data was being properly and securely extracted, processed, packaged, converted and quality controlled before being loaded back into their GIS.
