The Problem

The Ordnance Survey's (OS) Positonal Accuracy Improved (PAI) programme means that many of our client's asset data (such as cabling and pipes) are misaligned due to the accuracy improvement of the base maps on which the asset data is plotted.

The Solution - Warp

Intelliscan's Warp software tool has been used by many UK utility companies to re-align both their raster and vector data. Warp was designed primarily for the Utility sector as it does not rely on the use of the OS's Link Files; ideal given that many utility companies also use additional MapInformation, such as developer's plans for which there are no link files. Quality control of the result is done by a simple real time visual comparison of the warped original maps overlaid on the PAI data. For a number of clients Intelliscan have also organised a full bureau service; not only to supply Warp but also carry out the re-alignment of assets on behalf of the client.

The Result

Our clients have been able to use Warp to successfully re-align all their asset data in line with the OS role-out of the PAI data programme.
