from Aberdeen to become the first tenant at Aberdeenshire
council's new Business Centre at Oldmeldrum. Founded in 1994,
Intelliscan serves over 250 major customers in 20 countries.
The company specialises in Geographic
Information Systems (GIS), which involves the use of
computer technology for large companies that need to
manage assets which exist outside their offices.
For example, electricity, water, gas
and telecommunications companies require to manage their
overhead lines and underground cables and pipes in order
to deliver the best service to customers whilst satisfying
regulatory requirements.
Similarly many organisations involved in offshore
work such as oil and oil service companies, survey and dredging
companies require to plan and report their activities using
GIS systems. The company also works for defence organisations
as well as local and central government.
