The first occupant of a new North-east
enterprise park opened for business today.
Software firm Intelliscan, formerly
based in Bridge of Don, is taking up more than a quarter
of office space at the business park at Oldmeldrum. The
business carried out its move from Bridge of Don over
the weekend.
The business centre - which follows
on from the councils success in developing similar facilities
at Huntly Portlethen, Inverurie and Westhill - will
provide 18 office suites and four workshop units available
on flexible leases and at competitve rental levels.
A main aim is to meet the needs of small
or start-up businesses. The take-up rate of workshops
has been rapid. Oldmeldrum is a rapidly expanding with
a new medical centre and a major housing expansion proposed.
A new secondary school, good rado links
and easy access to Aberdeen Airport are seen as major
factors in the commercial interest shown in the business
centre.
Intelliscan provides computer technology expertise
for large companies that need to manage their assets outwith
their offices.
