Intelliscan's Warp product provides a tool to realign customers' asset data and improve it's accuracy in relation to base maps and other data with pinpoint accuracy.

The positional accuracy of data is a prevalent issue at the moment due to the positional accuracy improvement (PAI) program currently being undertaken by the Ordnance Survey (OS). The OS provide the main source of geographic data in the UK.

However, the PAI program is having an impact on the many organisations that use OS data as a backdrop to capture their own asset data (such as cables and pipes) as the asset data will often no longer match the new re-surveyed OS data. For instance, a cable that was once plotted along a kerbside may now look as though it runs through a garden or even a building!

The OS's positional accuracy program, which began in April 2001 and was completed in March 2006, involves re-surveying of all rural 1:2,500 scale data in the UK.
